More TITANic Promotion News

Slashing Rake
As if Titan Poker, one of the best remaining sites available for US play, has not been doing enough already they announce yet another promotion. This time they are cutting the rake on cash games by 50%. The promotion does not end at the reduced rake either, they are also setting high-stakes rake to be just $.10 per hand.
Titan Poker offered the following public statement in regards to their newest promotion:
“As part of its poker Rake Break promotion, Titan Poker has decreased the maximum rake cap by 50% at fixed limit tables on all games throughout the day. This reduction has also gone into effect all day long for No Limit Hold’em games with blinds up to $0.05/$0.10.
In addition, no rake is being collected for cash games with stakes of $25/$50 and above. Instead, there will be a fixed fee of $0.10 charged per hand, with the standard consideration of “no flop no drop.”
By The Numbers
Our friends at PokerNewsBoy.com put it like this…”Basically, a player who is contributing $.10 per hand to the rake will see their win-rate increase by $5 per 100 hands during the promotion. A heads-up player who is contributing upwards of $.50 per hand to the rake will be making a whopping $25 more per hour!”
This is a much needed boost in income for a lot of people, and for those that do not actually need it, it is just good to be able to make extra money by doing nothing differently. This promotion comes shortly after Party Poker had announced that they will be running rake-free tournaments for the summer. This is more than likely an effort to pick up the remaining Full Tilt players who have been legitimately left without a home after they have been forced to shut down.

Week In Review

DC Rally
This upcoming Tuesday, the Poker Players Alliance will be holding a rally outside of the US Capitol building. The rally is being held to promote the legalization and regulation of online poker at a federal level. This is directly related to the events of “Black Friday.” The organizers encourage you to set up your own meetings with government officials and offer directions on how to schedule here.
Organizers hope to see a large turn out and are especially hopeful that some members of Congress, who are sympathetic to the cause, will make appearances throughout the day.
Merge Network Leaves New York, Ends Rakeback
In order to better “follow the rules” the Merge Gaming Network has announced that it will no longer be accepting players from New York state. The Merge Network is home to many poker sites, most notably Carbon Poker and Lock Poker. New York is one of the few states that has laws against the play of online poker and Merge is hoping that this move will improve their standing with the government and hopefully help them avoid any future trouble.
In other news regarding Merge, they will be ending rakeback starting June 1st. This is being done alongside a lot of other changes that their sites will be going through. If you are already signed up and playing, you will lock in those rakeback rates (which are some of the best around), but if you sign up on or after the 1st of June you will not. This fact means that the best time to sign up and play on the Merge Network is right now.
Looking Forward
As always, when one week ends, another begins. And with the start of the new week brings a lot of mixed emotions amongst the poker community. As always we hope to hear more and more (hopefully positive) news about the refunding of players. Full Tilt, UB, and Absolute still remain on the starting block while PokerStars has been hard at work for some time now. The break through has to be right around the corner.
With the revamp of many sites, keep your eyes peeled for new promotions and other deals. Recently, Titan Poker, released a promotion that gives players the opportunity to play in the 2011 WSOP. For full promotion details and other info, simply visit Titan Poker.

New Year Super Sale at Titan Poker
December 28th, 2010 by Sarah Stewart
From January 7th, 2011 through January 16th, 2011, Titan Poker is having a Super New Year Sale. This sale isn’t on electronics or bedding or anything like that. It is a New Year’s Super Sale on tournament Buy Ins. Up to 80 % off on your tournament buy in and this applies to even the biggest tournaments and not just a few selected ones.
This is not like the kind of New Years Sale that you see at the department store where there is a sign saying sale on a table that has a few scattered pieces of clothing that you would, not only not buy but, you would require payment in order to wear in public. This is more like an “Everything in the Store” kind of a sale. Only the store is the tournament lobby at Titan Poker. Getting 80 % off of you tournament entry for the $750,000.00 guaranteed prize tournaments is a great value and it makes the tournament buy in odds swing way over in to your favor.
When you are in the tournament lobby at Titan Poker, look for the “Winter Sales” tab and you will find the promotional opportunities there. Here are a list of some of the tournament Sale opportunities:

Titan Poker Approved and Granted a French Gaming License
December 7th, 2010 by Sarah Stewart
Poker in France has become very popular over the past few years. The country of France was even represented at the final table of the World Series of Poker in 2009 by Antoine Saout. France is now considered the second largest poker market in Europe. France’s Regulatory Authority of Online Games just issued a gaming license to Titan Poker. Titan Poker will soon begin to operate with the new .Fr domain.
The Regulatory board has been allowing overseas sites to operate in France since the beginning of the year but many critics say that the country’s tax levies are still way too high to truly promote an open market for overseas gaming operators. When Titan Poker approached the French regulatory agency for licensing, they promised to provide a focus on problem gambling and to give players resources and controls to help prevent gambling problems. Titan Poker is in the process of trying to promote new and existing member to sing up on the new French domain.
Titan Promotions
Speaking of Titan Poker promotions, they have launched the “All In Winter” promotion. It is really a set of promotions that is meant to reward players at cash games, sit and go tournaments, free roll tournaments, and other tournaments. If you are a cash game player the promotion will give you a chance to share a part of the $10,000.00 weekly promotional prize pool that will run for 9 weeks. This is basically a raked hand leader board race and every week they players will be ranked on the number of raked hands that they play.
There will be two levels of races each week based upon the limits that you play in. Players are eligible to compete in both races in the same week. The first race will be for stakes of $0.50/$1.00 and up and this race will make up seventy percent of the weekly prize pool, or $7,000.00. The second race will be for limits of $0.25/$0.50 and below and the remaining thirty percent of $3,000.00 will be attributed to this race.
Sit And Go
If sit and go tournaments are your preference, there are also weekly races for sit and go tournaments with an $8,000.00 weekly prize pool for 9 weeks. The sit and go races will also be in two limit levels and will also allow players to compete in both level races if they choose. The first limit level is for sit and go tournaments with a buy in of $5.00 or greater and this level will be for $6,000.00 of the weekly prize pool. The remaining $2,000.00 of the prize pool will go to the winners of the sit and go race leader board for buy ins less than $5.00.
Multi Table Tournaments
The multi table tournament races will be called the MT3 and run for the months of December and January. The total prize pool for the MT3 is $38,000.00. Titan Poker is also offering two free roll tournaments that each have a prize pool of $10,000.00.

November 28th, 2010 by Joshua Scott
From December 1st to February 1st it is All In Winter at Titan Poker. During the In Winter there will be $220,000 up for grabs. This is a great way to celebrate Christmas and New Years and possibly win a lot of cash. It doesn’t matter if you play ring games, sit and go’s, or other tournaments. You can even win money in this promotion by playing in Free Rolls. Cash Table Races or Raked Hand Races will award $10,000 every week for the nine weeks of the promotion. There will be two leader boards, one for high stakes, $.50/$1.00 and up and low stakes, up to $.25/$.50. $7,000 a week will go to the High Stakes winners and $3,000 will go to the Low States winner. The top 100 players on the Leader Board will win. In the High Stakes category $1,000 will go to first place and in the Low Stakes category $425 will go to the first place. For the Sit and Go Race $8,000.00 will be awarded every week for the nine weeks of the promotion. $6,000 will go to the top 100 players on the High Stakes Leader Board, $5.00 and Up, with $850 going to the player in first place. $2,000 will go to the top 100 players on the Low Stakes Leader Board, $.50 to $4.00, with $225 going to the player in first place. The formula that will be used to determine the number of points that you earn is fairly simple. It is the number of players in the tournament minus the position that you finish in plus 1.
There are also going to be two Free Rolls in this promotion. To qualify for these Free Rolls you only have to earn one hundred points in the qualifying period. Both of these Free Roll Tournaments have a $10,000 prize guarantee. The first one is on January 2nd and it is for the players that qualified in the Month of December. The second one is on February 2nd and this one is for the players that qualified in the month of January. The top one hundred finishers in both of these tournaments will be in the money with the first place winner in each tournament winning $1,000.00. In both of these Free Rolls the remainder of the final table prizes are second place will pay $850, third place will pay $650, fourth place will pay $500, fifth place will pay $400, sixth place will pay $300, seventh place will pay $250, eighth place will pay $200, ninth place will pay $170, and tenth place will pay $150.
And while you are playing on Titan Poker, don’t forget to give the Dirty Dozen Sit and Go’s a chance. These are two-table, twelve player sit and go’s with a buy in of $2 + $.40. If you win four of these in a row, in addition to the regular prize money winnings that you would normally get from these tournaments, you will win a $2,000.00 prize for this Dirty Dozen promotion.

MT3 at Titan Poker
November 16th, 2010 by Sarah Stewart
Titan Poker is running the competition for the best MT3 player. The event began on November 1st and runs through January 31st. The top Mt3 player will win a “winner’s choice” package to live tournaments worth fourteen thousand dollars. The way this promotion works is that Titan Poker will rank you both monthly and quarterly based upon the best twenty sit and go tournaments that you have results in for that month. Twelve thousand dollars is set aside each month for the top ten on the leader board and the top ten for the quarter will compete for the fourteen thousand dollar live poker tournament prize package.
The method that is being used to calculate points earned for the competition includes the factors of position finished, number of players in the tournament, and the buy in amount of the tournament. The more tournaments that you play every month increase your chances of winning because they are using your best results from twenty tournaments.
One of the dictionary definitions of Titan is “a thing of enormous size, strength, power, influence, etc”. Titan Poker certainly fits this description with one of the widest varieties of games in the business, all kinds of tournaments, more different kinds of jackpots that any other site that I have seen, and plenty of great action. For Jackpots they not only have a Bad Beat Jackpot but they also have a Royal Flush Jackpot and a High Hand Jackpot.
You can also get “soaked’ in Titan Poker’s November Cash Rain promotion by playing in at least forty raked hands per day for a minimum of three days. The bigger the games and the more hands that you play, the more money that you will win. This is another way to get paid to play and you like to play anyway, right?
There are also a large number of different kinds of Jackpots at Titan Poker. There is the Titan Double. To win this progressive jackpot you must enter into the two Titan Double tournaments that start five minutes apart at 21:35 GMT and 21:40 GMT. Buy in for each tournament is $5 + $1. The jackpot is divided up among every player that makes it to the final table of both tournaments. So essentially it could be 10 winners but most likely it will be considerably less. Because it is a progressive jackpot, if no players qualify in a given day, the prize money is rolled over into the next days Jackpot. Another of their many jackpot promotions is the Fort Knox jackpot. You win this jackpot by winning six Fort Knox jackpot Sit and Go tournaments in a row. The tournaments are six player sit and go’s with a buy in of $50 + $9 and the tournaments start as soon as six players are seated. It might not sound easy but it is well worth it. The jackpot is a progressive one that starts out at fifty thousand dollars. At the time that this article was written it was standing at one hundred and eighty thousand dollars.
Team Titan members have really been tearing it up at recent EPT and WPT events. Team Titan members include Sorel Mizzi, Florian Desgouttes, Jonas Klausen, Marvin Rettenmaier, Sam Trickett, Yann Brosolo, and Joel Benzinou.
