Bouncing at BWIN Poker
November 19th, 2010 by Sarah Stewart
BWIN Poker has a new Sit and Go tournament that has a pretty unique format. It is called the “Bounce” series and it just started on November 15th and will continue through January ninth of 2011. These sit and go tournaments will run daily through out that period. The sit and go’s are six handed and the prize pool is paid to the top two players. The game is No Limit Hold Em and the buy in is only $1 + $.20 or $5 + $.50. Players start out with two thousand in chips and the blind levels change every three minutes.
Why is this tournament series different and why do they call it “Bounce”? It is the way the blinds change. The first level has a small blind of ten and a big blind of twenty and there is no ante. After three minutes the blinds increase to a small blind of one hundred and a big blind of two hundred with a twenty dollar ante. Then after three minutes of this the third level of blinds brings a small blind of fifteen and a big blind of thirty with no ante. After three minutes at the third level the blinds bounce again to a small blind of two hundred and a big blind of four hundred with a forty dollar ante. The rest of the tournament structure is:

Many players are going to have a difficult time adjusting to the ups and downs of these tournament levels. Being able to make it through those even numbered blind levels is going to be a little difficult, especially in the early stages of the tournament where, at level 2, the big blind is ten percent of your starting stack size. If you feel like you are skilled enough to handle this then you will have a tremendous advantage in the Bounce tournament sit and go series. BWIN Poker introduced this series of sit and go tournaments with the statement on their web site “Hold on to your chips and get ready for a bumpy ride”. That pretty much says it all because the big swings in blinds between levels will certainly make for a very bumpy ride and it is going to be supremely important to be able to hang on to your chips, and maybe even accumulate some from the other players stacks, during the higher, even numbered levels.
While you are playing in one of these “Bounce” sit and go’s, be certain to get into one o the many qualifiers and free rolls for the Aussie Millions prize package.
